Orthoceras was a type of cephalopod that lived around 400 million years ago. They had long and slender shells, and are ancestors of the modern day squid and octopus.

This fossil has been surrounded with copper which has been darkened with patina. The pendant hangs from copper-plated brass chain that measures around 18" with a lobster claw closure. The pendant measures approximately 2" long.
